All classes finished Chapter 12 this week as well! If your would like to purchase your student a calculator, they are allowed to bring them and use them in class now. You don’t need anything fancy, just something that can perform basic calculations. I know that they sell ones that are perfectly acceptable at the Dollar Tree. If your student does not have a calculator, I will let them use one during quizzes.

We will be taking the quiz on Monday. In order to better prepare:

I have placed a review quiz in google classroom for the students to take this weekend. (I have the settings so each student can have 2 attempts at the quiz.)

They can take the lessons on IXL (Start at 7th grade M-7 (can do the rest of M as well)).

You can help! Give them problems with percents! Discounts, adding tax, figuring out the tip, finding the better deal between two sales, etc. Students should also know how to calculate a discount and add the tax, so if you want to throw some of those questions at them, it would really help. This is one section that everyone can relate to!

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

This week we completed 2 assignments in Microsoft Word and worked on keyboarding skills. Next week we should have at least 3 assignments for students to complete. This is a class where students should not have homework (unless they want to do the keyboarding program at home).

If your child does not have earbuds or headphones, it might be a good idea to purchase some for your student. There are some activities that we do in class that require students to listen to a video. Please do not send in air-pods, they will not work with the computers. (Send in ones that can be plugged into a desktop).

QUESTIONS?

As always if you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.

Thank you for your continued support in your child’s education,

Mrs. Osak

7TH GRADE MATHEMATICS We spent this week taking the NWEA assessment.
