Good Afternoon!\u00a0 Here\u2019s looking at another short week of school.\u00a0 We will begin WIDA testing this week.\u00a0 Our first test will be the listening test which we will take Wednesday morning.\u00a0 As a friendly reminder, there was a permission slip for our next field trip to Cranbrook Institute of Science that went home last Thursday.\u00a0 Please returned signed.\u00a0 Also, Wednesday, February 20th will be family math night.\u00a0 I hope to see you there.\u00a0 Here is our agenda for the week.<\/p>\n
Math:\u00a0 We will focus on multiplication and division strategies for learning the facts for 6 and 7.\u00a0 Please review flashcards daily and try the online multiplication practice from my earlier blog post.\u00a0 We will be doing our timed test on Friday.<\/p>\n
Science:\u00a0 Please sign the science test that will come home on Tuesday.\u00a0 We will start our new investigation this week.\u00a0 Students will be analyzing weather calendars and looking for patterns.\u00a0 They will create weather charts and bar graphs.<\/p>\n
Social Studies:\u00a0 We will focus on tourism in Michigan and how its natural resources and location contribute to its economic development.<\/p>\n
Reading:\u00a0 We will focus on main idea and details within informational text.\u00a0 Later in the week we will focus on different text structures including sequence, compare\/contrast, and cause\/effect.<\/p>\n
Writing:\u00a0 We will continue drafting our opinion essays and begin using a writing checklist to develop new writing goals.<\/p>\n
