Good Morning!\u00a0 I hope everyone had a great weekend.\u00a0 This will be another short week as we have a mid-winter break beginning at the end of the week.\u00a0 Thursday is a half day, and there will be no school on Friday or Monday the 18th.\u00a0 We will still have our usual spelling test on Thursday instead.\u00a0 Please make sure your child is studying their spelling words daily.\u00a0 Many students are not able to pass the weekly tests.\u00a0 This comes with practice and repetition.\u00a0 Having strong spelling skills will help them become better readers and writers as well.\u00a0 Also, students should be practicing multiplication facts daily.\u00a0 Last week I posted a website that kids might find fun to help them study their facts.\u00a0 Here is what our week looks like.<\/p>\n
Math:\u00a0 \u00a0We will be starting topic B Today with an emphasis on finding the unknown with division facts.<\/p>\n
Science:\u00a0 A study guide will come home today for students to work on.\u00a0 We will check it Tuesday to review.\u00a0 The test will be on Wednesday.\u00a0 \u00a0Please study with your child over the next few days to help him or her prepare better.\u00a0 I will be posting the answer key on the blog for your use.<\/p>\n
Social Studies:\u00a0 We will be learning about how Michigan\u2019s location and natural resources lead to its economic growth.\u00a0 We will also study the concepts of specialization and interdependence.<\/p>\n
Reading:\u00a0 We will be using informational text to ask and answer questions as well as find main ideas and key details.<\/p>\n
Writing:\u00a0 We will begin drafting our opinion essay.<\/p>\n
Thursday is Valentine\u2019s Day.\u00a0 We will be celebrating with a small party.\u00a0 If your child wants to bring in a treat, he or she may do so.\u00a0 In class your child is making cards for their classmates so no need to buy cards.\u00a0 \u00a0We have 21 students, so if you bring something in, please make sure you have one for each child.\u00a0 Let\u2019s make it a great week!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
