I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the snow.\u00a0 Today, Tuesday, will be a half day with dismissal at 11:45 am.\u00a0 This week we begin marking period three.\u00a0 I can\u2019t believe we are halfway through the year already.\u00a0 This is a chance for everyone to start brand new again.\u00a0 Please encourage your child to put forth his or her best effort this card marking.\u00a0 We will be taking the NWEA reading test on Wednesday.\u00a0 We are starting new math and social studies units this week.\u00a0\u00a0There will not be any new spelling words again this week due to a short week and NWEA testing.<\/strong><\/p>\n Here is what our week looks like.<\/p>\n Math:\u00a0 We are beginning module 3 which will focus on multiplication and division.\u00a0 Students are required to memorize basic multiplication facts up to 10 by the end of third grade.\u00a0 Please encourage your child to practice with flashcards everyday.<\/p>\n Science:\u00a0 We will be investigating how temperature affects evaporation.<\/p>\n Social Studies:\u00a0 Our new unit will focus on the economics of Michigan.\u00a0 This week we will learn how entrepreneurs use natural, human, and capital resources to manufacture products.<\/p>\n Reading:\u00a0 We will focus on describing characters in a story and analyzing how their actions contribute to the sequence of events.\u00a0 I\u2019m very proud of how well students did on the I-Ready diagnostic test last week.\u00a0 Please continue practicing at home for those that can access the program.<\/p>\n Writing:\u00a0 We will continue planning our opinion topics by organizing our claim statement, reasons for that claim, and evidence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Good Morning!
