{"id":632,"date":"2019-01-15T08:54:51","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T13:54:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/oldanie\/?p=632"},"modified":"2019-01-15T08:54:51","modified_gmt":"2019-01-15T13:54:51","slug":"weekly-newsletter-1-14-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/oldanie\/2019\/01\/15\/weekly-newsletter-1-14-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Newsletter 1\/14-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to all the students who earned awards at Friday\u2019s honors assembly.\u00a0 \u00a0I am so proud of my class for all their hard work and perseverance.\u00a0 They will be putting that perseverance and hard work to the test this week as we begin our mid-year testing cycle.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday we began taking the I-Ready diagnostic test in the morning.\u00a0 Once that is completed students can access the website again from home. Most are finished and are able to access it at home again.<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday we will take the NWEA Science test.<\/li>\n<li>We will also have a social studies test for the end of the unit this Wednesday.\u00a0 A study guide went home Monday and we will be reviewing today.<\/li>\n<li>Thursday we will have a math test for the end of module.\u00a0 And Friday is the end of the card marking period.<\/li>\n<li>There will be\u00a0<strong>no spelling test this week.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We also have a half day on Friday.\u00a0 Dismissal will be at 11:45.<\/li>\n<li>This coming Monday (January 21) we have\u00a0<strong>NO SCHOOL\u00a0<\/strong>and Tuesday (January 22) we have a\u00a0<strong>half day,\u00a0<\/strong>early dismissal at 11:45<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is our week ahead:<\/p>\n<p>Math:\u00a0 We have one more lesson to finish on addition, subtraction, and rounding.\u00a0 Students will get a study guide on Wednesday, and the test is Thursday.\u00a0 This will leave Friday for any make-up tests if students were absent.\u00a0 Due to the amount of testing this week, please make sure your child is not absent unless he or she is sick.<\/p>\n<p>Science:\u00a0 We will not be starting anything new this week due to all the testing.<\/p>\n<p>Social Studies:\u00a0 A study guide will be given on Monday, and the test will be on Wednesday.\u00a0 This test will cover the economic growth of Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Reading:\u00a0 We will be comparing and contrasting stories.<\/p>\n<p>Writing:\u00a0 We will begin brainstorming lists of opinion topics to write about.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"excerpt\">Congratulations to all the students who earned awards at Friday\u2019s honors assembly.\u00a0 \u00a0I am so proud of my class for all their hard work and perseverance.\u00a0 They will be putting that perseverance and hard work to the test this week as we begin our mid-year testing cycle.
