It was nice enjoying the cooler temperatures and I see some leaves changing color on the trees.\u00a0 This week we have our field trip to the apple orchard on Tuesday.\u00a0 It is supposed to rain off and on all day.\u00a0 Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather.\u00a0 They should\u00a0<strong>wear rain boots or water resistant shoes with socks, a rain jacket, and if possible, provide a poncho<\/strong>.\u00a0 Also, they need to\u00a0<strong>bring a bag lunch<\/strong>\u00a0that day.\u00a0 Please make sure their first and last name is written on the bag.\u00a0 No glass bottles are allowed.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>If you are chaperoning please meet in the classroom by 9:00 a.m.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be finishing our NWEA testing throughout the week.\u00a0 \u00a0Students need to study spelling daily for their test on Friday.\u00a0 Also, please make sure your child reads at home for at least 20 minutes every night.<\/p>\n<p>Here is our academic focus for the week.<\/p>\n<h4>Math:<\/h4>\n<p>This week we will continue to learn multiplication and division strategies using tape diagrams.<\/p>\n<h4>Science:<\/h4>\n<p>We are at the end of our first investigation.\u00a0 So this week we will be reviewing all the concepts learned about forces.<\/p>\n<h4>Social Studies:<\/h4>\n<p>We will be learning about the natural characteristics of Michigan including Michigan\u2019s vegetation and climate.<\/p>\n<h4>Reading:<\/h4>\n<p>We are still studying fiction texts and will read to describe characters\u2019 actions and motivations and how they contribute to the sequence of events.<\/p>\n<h4>Writing:<\/h4>\n<p>The students seem to be having fun with the narratives that we have started.\u00a0 This week we will begin drafting our narratives and focusing on leads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"excerpt\">Happy first weekend of Fall!
