This week we will begin the new Eureka Math program and we will begin with multiplication strategies and concepts. Students will be working out of three books that will stay at school. Students will be tearing pages out and bringing them home to complete for homework. Homework is always due the next day.<\/p>\n
This week we will begin unit 1 in the FOSS science program.\u00a0Our first unit will be physical science, and we are starting with magnetic forces.<\/p>\n
Third grade Social Studies is all about Michigan. This week we are starting our first unit on geography.\u00a0 Students will explore where they live including their city, state, county, country, continent, and planet.\u00a0 Please help your child memorize his or her address if they don\u2019t already know it.<\/p>\n
We will focus on literary text this week.\u00a0 We will examine short stories, poems, and dramas to understand how text is organized.\u00a0 We will also be exploring how the illustrations help guide the story.\u00a0 Please make sure your child reads good fit books each night for at least 20 minutes.\u00a0 That is the best indicator that students will improve their reading abilities.<\/p>\n
We will be writing narrative stories this week.\u00a0 Students will be telling a story about a birthday party.\u00a0 We will focus on leads, transitions, and conclusions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
