have received their recorders and are starting to learn how to play their brand new instrument!\u00a0 Please be patient with us as we make music on our new instrument.\u00a0 It will take some time before we are able to play songs that are recognizable!\u00a0 In the meantime, students should be working on the notes B, A and G (see below for an idea of what those notes are) and using their LEFT hand on top.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/oakmanmusic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2744\/2018\/12\/1stGrLessonRecorderImage1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" singing the song, clapping and speaking the rhythm and playing the notes on the recorder.<\/p>\n<p><a Come a-Knockin&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SMGJNBeqGX8\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SMGJNBeqGX8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>4th graders are learning about the lines and spaces of the Treble Clef Staff.\u00a0 The staff has 5 lines and 4 spaces and we use a couple of mnemonic devices to help us remember the letter names of each line and space.\u00a0 Lines &#8211; <strong>E<\/strong>very <strong>G<\/strong>ood <strong>B<\/strong>oy\u00a0<strong>D<\/strong>eserves <strong>F<\/strong>ootball and Spaces &#8211; <strong>FACE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bozeman-longfellowmusic.weebly.com\/uploads\/1\/2\/4\/2\/12427869\/2595617_orig.jpg?338\" alt=\"Image result for treble clef every good burger deserves fries\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once students are familiar with the notes on the Treble Cleff Staff, they will start the Recorder Karate Program.\u00a0 Recorder order forms will be sent home in the next couple of weeks for each student to purchase a recorder of their own.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS-BMHZCAZZvhZUO0PbuXOHrSnznPPxbX0GNPpPzuVK4TWN7a4a\" alt=\"Image result for recorder\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4th graders have also been introduced to a couple of folk dance songs.\u00a0 We have learned the Russian Dance, Sasha, and are just starting to learn the southern dance, Alabama Gal.\u00a0 Students learn how to work with a partner or in a group, how to move in different ways and how to listen\/sing with the music in order to know what is coming next.\u00a0 Folk dancing and movement are an important part of our music class!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\"
