{"id":87,"date":"2017-09-14T16:06:57","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T20:06:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/neuensb123\/?p=87"},"modified":"2017-09-14T16:06:57","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T20:06:57","slug":"welcome-to-the-2017-2018-school-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/neuensb123\/2017\/09\/14\/welcome-to-the-2017-2018-school-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you to all who could come to Open House \u00a0last night. \u00a0Sign-up sheets are available for conferences on November 9, 15, and 16. \u00a0Spaces are still available.<\/p>\n<p>This Friday, at 8:00 a.m., we will have our 1st parent meeting. \u00a0Everyone is invited to attend and may walk in with their student. \u00a0It will probably take 30 minutes. \u00a0We will go over class rules, reading and math expectation and the new science program.<\/p>\n<p>We will also have our first spelling test on Friday. \u00a0The words focus on &#8220;an&#8221; and &#8220;ap&#8221; chunks. \u00a0They are van, man, fan, gap, lap, and rap. \u00a0They also include high frequency words, such as, and, to, a, and I.<\/p>\n<p>Here are Lowrey Reading Rules<\/p>\n<p>1.Reading book bags will go home daily<\/p>\n<p>2.Students must read books:<\/p>\n<p>**K-1 (15+ minutes daily)**<\/p>\n<p>3.Students will complete a reading assignment daily<\/p>\n<p>4.Book Logs&#8211; Signed daily by parents<\/p>\n<p>5.Online reading websites through the District homepage (CLEVER) <a href=\"https:\/\/dearbornschools.org\/\">https:\/\/dearbornschools.org\/<\/a> \u00a0and in our Monthly Newsletter<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to seeing everyone at our Parent Meeting tomorrow in room 115.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you to all who could come to Open House \u00a0last night. \u00a0Sign-up sheets are available for conferences on November 9, 15, and 16. \u00a0Spaces are still available.
