{"id":585,"date":"2019-10-18T08:17:13","date_gmt":"2019-10-18T12:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/nardone\/?p=585"},"modified":"2019-10-21T10:38:14","modified_gmt":"2019-10-21T14:38:14","slug":"brics-bond-for-dearborn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/nardone\/2019\/10\/18\/brics-bond-for-dearborn\/","title":{"rendered":"BRICS Bond for Dearborn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bond Overview-Please Vote!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dearborn&nbsp;Public Schools is asking voters to consider a bond proposal on the&nbsp; November 5th, 2019 ballot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With existing bonds expiring, the District can generate approximately $240 million from the sale of new bonds without a change in the current millage rate of 4.82.&nbsp; This bond would not increase the current tax rates for residents.<br><br>The District is calling the proposal&nbsp;BRICS&nbsp;because the funded projects focus on Buildings, Renovations, Infrastructure, Capacity and Safety.<br><br>The&nbsp;BRICS&nbsp;Bond proposal is the direct result of the Infrastructure Task Force, which spent just over three months developing a plan and then making a recommendation to the Board of Education that included a zero millage increase while still generating $240 million to address a variety of critically needed items&nbsp;and updates in our schools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bond Overview-Please Vote!
