Permission slips for our field trip to the Detroit Zoo are due by Friday, October 5th. If you have not sent in a signed permission slip and $6, please do so by Friday. If you would like to chaperone please let me know.
There is a great site for your child to practice more math online. I already signed up your child in class today, so all you have to do is log them in. Their login usernames and passwords are in their folders. Please do not lose them because we will need them in class too.
The first letters of the last and first names are capital letters. Please make sure to do that or it will not log you in. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
zearn.org is the website.
Please make sure that you sign in to parent connect to check your child’s grades. If you don’t have a log in yet, let me know and I will help you get access.
We will be going to The Detroit Zoo on Thursday, October 11th. The children will bring home permission slips tomorrow, but they are not due until October 5th. We have room for 5 parents to join us on the bus. If you can come, we would love to spend the day exploring the zoo with you. The price is $6 per person.
The students brought home a new Scholastic Book Club order form today. If you are interested in ordering books, orders are due by 9:00AM on Friday, September 21st. Please bring in the form along with the money by the due date.
Students will continue to bring books home that they borrowed from our classroom. Please continue encouraging your child to read every day, even on the weekends. Thank you for your support!
Beginning Monday, your child must be picked up from our classroom and not the cafeteria. Our classroom number is 105. Your child will only be released to parents or siblings. If you want your child to be picked up by a friend or neighbor, please let me know. Your child’s safety is very important. Thank you!
We will begin spelling this week. Each Friday the students will be tested on 12 spelling words. Ten of the words will be given to them and 2 words will be “mystery” words that follow the pattern they are learning. Your child will practice these words each day in class and it is highly recommended that he/she studies the words at home as well. Your child will receive the spelling list on Mondays. It will also be posted on our blog. Please make that your child is studying the words. Thank you for your support!
Our first spelling test is September 7th.
This week’s spelling words are: ran, can, van, map, tap, cap, the, to, and, you
