{"id":3844,"date":"2020-10-11T10:47:36","date_gmt":"2020-10-11T14:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mssherlock\/?p=3844"},"modified":"2020-10-11T10:47:37","modified_gmt":"2020-10-11T14:47:37","slug":"schoology-for-parents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mssherlock\/2020\/10\/11\/schoology-for-parents\/","title":{"rendered":"Schoology for parents"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dearborn Public Schools is now using Schoology, an integrated learning management solution that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication.&nbsp; Schoology enables our students, parents, and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, write academic blogs, and more. As a parent, you will be able to view your child\u2019s activity within the platform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents will be able to see the work that is being assigned to their children. Schoology will also be used to communicate important information from the School. Schoology can be used on the web or via the Schoology App for iOS or Android.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be receiving an email with your login information. These emails will be sent to parent email addresses on file via the Emergency Information Forms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schoology also has a<a href=\"https:\/\/support.schoology.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201000873-Parent-Guide\">&nbsp;Parent Guide<\/a>&nbsp;available to support you and your questions. One of the most important topics is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.schoology.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201000803-Personal-Account-Parent-Notifications\">Parent Notifications<\/a>. You can choose how and how often you are notified by Schoology.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We value your participation in your child\u2019s education, and we encourage you to read Schoology\u2019s Privacy Policy &amp; Terms of Use at&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoology.com\/privacy\">https:\/\/www.schoology.com\/privacy<\/a>. Student progress and activity will be monitored by faculty to ensure a safe, secure, and controlled environment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All Parent Accounts are based on the information provided in MiStar during registration. An email will be sent to all of the Parent email addresses that we have on file. The email will include a link to Schoology, a user name and a password. All parents should change the password to something that they can remember.
