Every Monday the students will take a Spelling Pretest to see what words they already know how to spell and what the week\u2019s rule is for the spelling words. There will be 5 \u201chot\u201d words that follow a particular pattern. On Friday\u2019s test, the students will also be asked how to spell 5 \u201ccold\u201d words that follow the same pattern. The test will also include 5 Dolch words that we are learning in Second grade 
\nStudents will receive Spelling homework every Monday. The spelling sheet lists different spelling activities that the students can complete at home. Students must choose 4 of these activities, complete them at home, and return the sheet with all work attached every Friday. Your child will be coming home with Spelling homework today.<\/p>\n

Students should be reading 15-20 minutes every night at home. The more students practice reading, the better readers they will become!<\/p>\n

2nd grade students will begin learning Science and Social Studies starting tomorrow . All second graders will have myself for Science , then they will go to Mrs. Sabellico class for Social studies . This happens in the afternoon 2:50-3:20 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday<\/p>\n

**Reminder that Open House is this Thursday, September 17th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Come in and see your child\u2019s classroom and meet the teacher.<\/p>\n
