We will practice retelling the story in sequence. We will ask and answer questions. We will discuss the cause and effect. We will visualize a story. We will make self to text connections to read alouds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Spelling words: (-ug) bug, dug, tug, rug, plug, hug, slug, snug, jug, where<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Language Arts<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are learning three letter s-blends (str-). Sight words: where \u00a0We will review nouns, verbs and adjectives. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will review antonyms, syllables, magic\/bossy e and endings in a word (suffixes- ing, -ed,-er, -s, -y). We will practice fixing sentences (capitalization, punctuation). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Writing<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will be writing an informational piece about insects. \u00a0We will write a descriptive piece and include their habitats. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Math<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will start Module 6. It is geometry. We will review 2d and 2d shapes. We will practice non-standard measurement.We will practice skip counting by 10\u2019s, 5\u2019s, 2\u2019s. We will also review more graphs. We will learn about telling time to the hour and half hour. We will practice counting coins. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Science<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will \u00a0review about the living and nonliving things. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Social Studies<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will discuss ways for saving the earth and how to reuse materials in classroom. We will also review endangered animals and why they are endangered (loss of habitat or hunted by poachers).\u00a0<\/span>We will also be discussing Memorial Day!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Important dates to keep in mind:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5- 24 &amp; 5-27: No school- Memorial Day<\/li>\n<li>6-3, 6-4 &amp; 6-5: No school- Vacation (Eid Holiday)<\/li>\n<li>6-7: Donuts for Dad 7:45-8:45<\/li>\n<li>6-12: Year End Kindergarten Picnic @York Park from 11:00-12:00 (all families invited)<\/li>\n<li>6-14: Last day of school (1\/2 day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>***Donate snacks if you can!
