Reading<\/b><\/p>\n
We will review text types: storybooks, fiction\/nonfiction, poetry. We will practice retelling the story in sequence. We will ask and answer questions. We will discuss the cause and effect. We will visualize a story. We will make self to text connections to read alouds<\/span><\/p>\n Spelling words: (-og) log, dog, log, fog, frog, smog, so, some, from <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n Language Arts<\/b><\/p>\n We are learning three letter s-blends (str-, scr-). Sight words: some, from, so. We will review nouns, verbs and adjectives. <\/span>We will review antonyms, syllables, magic\/bossy e and endings in a word (suffixes- ing, -ed,-er, -s, -y). We will practice fixing sentences (capitalization, punctuation). <\/span><\/p>\n Writing<\/b><\/p>\n We will be writing an informational piece about frogs. \u00a0We will write a descriptive piece and include its lifecycle. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Math<\/b><\/p>\n We will answer how many within a group of 20. We will build a rekenrek. We will practice counting in an array, linear and circular configuration. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Science<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n We will learn about the lifecycle of a frog. It include: egg, tadpole, tadpole with legs, froglet, adult frog.<\/span><\/p>\n Social Studies<\/b><\/p>\n We will discuss ways for saving the earth and how to reuse materials in classroom. <\/span><\/p>\n Important reminders:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n *Field trip form and money is due on Friday, May 10th <\/span><\/p>\n *Field trip to Greenfield Village on May 16th<\/span><\/p>\n *Howard is having a clean up parade on May 20th at 9:45-10:45<\/p>\n *We need empty paper towel rolls for a project for our clean up parade.<\/p>\n *Our class needs snacks.
