I hope everyone had a restful and refreshing Thanksgiving!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading:<\/strong> Transportation and vehicles- we will be reading Duck on a bike; On the go; Big big trucks; How partridge built his canoe; Timimoto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comprehension strategy:<\/strong>\u00a0identifying the beginning, middle and the end but using transitions words<strong> first, next, last<\/strong>. We will draw each part and write a simple sentence with the transition.<\/p>\n<h4>Reading Strategy: Medial sounds of 3 letter CVC words.<\/h4>\n<h4>WHAT ARE CVC WORDS?<\/h4>\n<p>CVC words are consonant-vowel-consonant words. They are words like cat, zip, rug, and pen.\u00a0 The vowel sound is always short.\u00a0 These words can be read by simply blending the individual phoneme sounds together.<\/p>\n<p>We have been learning about beginning and ending sounds. We will know focus on medial vowel sounds in 3 letter cvc words. Our focus will be short a words.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sight words:<\/strong> play, ride<\/p>\n<p><strong>Letters of the week:<\/strong> Qq, Vv<\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing:<\/strong> We are creating a poster about traveling. It is a narrative piece. We will write: We can ride on\/in a _(vehicle)_. We can go to _(location)_. We can ____.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong> Measurement using length of objects. We will be discussing longer and shorter. We will discuss endpoints. We will discuss using standard units to measure and non-standard units to measure. We will compare lengths of all sorts of objects. We will discuss and practice how to measure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies:\u00a0<\/strong> We will discuss needs and wants.
