November already&#8230;.. I just can not believe it!<\/p>\n<p>We are focusing on this week:<\/p>\n<p>Reading: We ware wrapping our friends unit up with how to problem solve. We will be reading Simon &amp; Molly plus Hester; Helping Hands, Little Red Hen; The turtle and the sheep. Each story will have a problem and solution. Our task is to find out each one and draw\/sketch\/write it out.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy to focus: Identify the problem and solution of a story<\/p>\n<p>Sight words of the week: it, is, have<\/p>\n<p>Letters of the week: Bb, Zz<\/p>\n<p>Writing: We will start informational writing this week. We will be writing an informational piece about Turkeys. This week we will focus on its characteristics (descriptive writing) Our sentence stem will be: Turkeys have__. Turkeys can__.\u00a0 We will create a web to help guide our writing. Your child will be expected to write 2 or more sentences with guidance. The sight words introduced this week and the sight words introduced in the past will help with this task.<\/p>\n<p>Examples include: Turkeys have beaks. Turkeys have wings. Turkeys have feathers etc.<\/p>\n<p>Math: We will learn about 2-d, 3-d shapes. These are numbers when they are combined (composed) make a certain number. This is also referred to as 2 parts equal one whole. We will also write addition number sentences to match. We will create a group of weather conditions and label them. We will graph the weather daily. Types of weather to know:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elimufeynman.s3.amazonaws.com\/media\/resources\/weathertypes_new.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for types of weather\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>REMINDERS:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No school Tuesday, November 7th- Election Day<\/li>\n<li>Reading bags will come home with new books this week. Make sure you read all 3.<\/li>\n<li>Parent Teacher conferences Thursday, November 9th. Please check your scheduled time and meet with me accordingly.
