Strategies: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Comprehension:<\/em> Retell- Identify: Beginning, Middle, End<\/p>\n<p><em>Accuracy:<\/em> Identify: Beginning Sounds, syllables\/word parts (through clapping)<\/p>\n<p><em>Fluency<\/em>: Identify: letters, sight words<\/p>\n<p><em>Expanding vocabulary:<\/em> Concepts of print: front\/back cover, word by word matching, spacing between words, where to begin reading, identify title, author, illustrator, opinion, narrative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Letters of the week:<\/strong> Hh, Ii<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sight words of the week:<\/strong> go, to<\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing:<\/strong> We will be continuing narrative writing using the new sight words this week. Our sentence stem will be: I can go to the ___.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong> Number racks!! We will learn that this is a math tool. We will use it in our learning of adding with in 10, counting and to build automacity and numeracy. This will be another modality to assist in counting. I will teach when and how to stop and start counting using the racks. We will write addition number sentences to match. Homework on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies:<\/strong> We will discuss ways to get along by creating webs and sentence stems: I can be responsible by__. I can be fair by __. I can solve a problem by __.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMINDERS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 day Friday, November 3rd-Dismissal at 11:45<\/li>\n<li>I will continue to assess where your child stands in time for report cards, so no new reading books this week. We will continue new books and reading groups next week.<\/li>\n<li>October reading logs due Wednesday, Nov. 1st.<\/li>\n<li>Parent Teacher Conferences coming up:\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, November 9th,<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday, November 15,<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, November 16<\/li>\n<li>Note coming on Friday for your scheduled time.
