We will read Seed Secrets; Poems: In my garden, Mary Mary Quite Contrary; The Talking Vegetable; Lets go to the National Park<\/p>\n<p>Strategy: Sequence using transitional words: First, Next, Then, Last<\/p>\n<p>Phonics: short e in CVC words<\/p>\n<p>Spelling: (-en family) pen, den, hen, men, ten, here, was<\/p>\n<p>Writing: We will continue informational writing. We will write about plants that grow on a vine using the transitional words first, next, then, and last. We are writing in sequential order. Practice talking out loud about things you do using the transition words. The more you say it, the easier it will come in writing.<\/p>\n<p>Math: We will revisit coins, and focus on the quarter. We will also make different types of patterns and identify the rule of that pattern. We will also learn about place value and how it connects with the ten base blocks. We will review tens and ones and learn about hundreds.<\/p>\n<p>Science: We will learn about what a plant needs to live (air, soil, water and sun).
