Hope our little ones had time to play outside before its gets too cold!!<\/p>\n<p>New Unit:\u00a0Getting around town<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading:<\/strong>\u00a0We will be reading <i>A Bus for Us, Ways to travel, Turtle and the Rabbit.\u00a0<\/i>We will be discussing forms of <strong>transportation<\/strong> and describing <strong>vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Strategies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Comprehension<\/strong>: Review\u00a0character and setting. Retelling the story (Beginning, middle, end) and asking questions<\/li>\n<li><strong>Accuracy:<\/strong>\u00a0Identify the first sound in a word and the last sound in a word<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fluency<\/strong>: Recognize upper\/lower case letters and sight words<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expanding Vocabulary:<\/strong>\u00a0Reading from left to right, Reading from top to bottom, Read from the left page and move to the right page. Know return sweep when reading \/writing a sentence, punctuation (period, question, exclamation mark), Author, Illustrator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Letter of the week:<\/strong>\u00a0Tt (review the previous letters learned)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sight word<\/strong>: See (Review: I, can, we, the, like, a)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing:<\/strong>\u00a0We will continue to focus on space between the words. We will make a list of vehicle and review shapes. We will also be able to write sentences independently using stems such as: \u00a0&#8220;I see a____.&#8221;, \u00a0&#8220;I see a (shape) on a (vehicle).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong>\u00a0We will be working on <em><strong>greater than, less than<\/strong><\/em> or<em> <strong>equal to<\/strong><\/em>. We will explore numbers using dice, dominoes and a number line. We will explore the use of a pan balance and review <em><strong>lighter<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>heavier<\/strong><\/em>. We will continue to practice counting 0-30 . \u00a0We will also practice adding one to any given number.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies:<\/strong> We\u00a0identify what is a want and what is a need. A need are items used for basic survival. Examples of a need would be: house, clothes, water, food etc. A want are items that are one may wish for. Examples of wants are: video games, cupcakes, a doll, a ball etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>REMINDERS<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please return the parent teacher conference reminder notes to confirm your time.<\/li>\n<li>Pasta for pennies will be due on Nov. 20th<\/li>\n<li>We are also running low on snacks.
