The leaves\u00a0are changing and the weather is cooler. It feels great!<\/p>\n<p>We continue our unit in week 2:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theme:<\/strong><em><strong> Families get together-<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential questions:<\/strong> What can families do together?<br \/>\nWhat are some things that you do with your family?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading:<\/strong> We will read stories: <em>The Picnic at the Apple Park<\/em> (Fiction), <em>Night Animals<\/em> (Non-fiction),<em> Squeaky old bed\u00a0<\/em>(Folktale), and <em>The Rabbit and the Coyote<\/em> (Non-fiction).<\/p>\n<p><strong>C.A.F.E. Strategies: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehension-predictions, setting<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy-Rhyming, identify first sound in a word<\/li>\n<li>Fluency- recognizing upper\/lower case letters, recognizing sight words<\/li>\n<li>Expanding Vocabulary- Identifying the front\/back cover, know to read\/write from left to right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Letter of the week<\/strong>: Aa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sight words:<\/strong> The, the (I, can, we)<\/p>\n<p><b>Writing:\u00a0<\/b>We will be forming the letters we have learned correctly. We will also continue practicing to write a sentence using the sight words and drawing pictures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong>\u00a0We\u2019ll be using 10 Frames- a rectangle with 5 boxes on the top row and 5 boxes underneath. For example, \u00a0we\u2019ll put tokens in 4 boxes and decide how many more we would need to make 10. \u00a04 + ? = 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science:<\/strong>\u00a0We\u2019ll be exploring the\u00a0<strong>5 Senses.<\/strong>\u00a0 Monday we\u2019ll start with\u00a0<strong>\u201cTouch.\u201d \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Social Studies:\u00a0We will continue to work on Classroom Routines and Working Well With Each Other.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMINDERS-\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WEDNESDAY IS LATE START. \u00a0Students will come to school 1 hour later (9:35 am). \u00a0Dismissal is regular time (3:35). \u00a0Teachers will be in a Professional Development Meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Have a wonderful week!<\/p>\n<p>-Ms. Mohamed<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fall season is officially here!
