100th Day of School is MONDAY!

Don’t forget about the 100th day project!

Dear Kindergarten Friends and Families:

It is time to party and celebrate!  On Monday February 22nd we will celebrate our first 100 days in kindergarten!  We have many fun activities planned across the curriculum.  I would like to make a connection between home and school by inviting you to create a 100- item display.  The students have been shown some examples.  You may use 100 marshmallows, pennies, Legos, sweet tarts; cereal pieces… the options are endless.  The item to be displayed can be glued to poster board, built, or even made (jewelry, cooked…).  I look forward to seeing your creations.  There are some project examples on the back of this sheet.  Please bring them to school by Monday, February 22nd.

Here are some examples:

100 1 100 2

100 4 100

Groundhog Day!

I’m not sure about everyone else but, I sure was glad to hear that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow! I’m excited for an early spring!¬†Yayy!

Today in class we were learning a little bit about groundhog day and what his shadow represents. ¬†We also read a poem called “Here’s a Little Groundhog” and created our own Groundhogs in a hole. ¬†Students got right to work and did a great job following our step by step directions and working cooperatively with friends at their tables.
