Letter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parents,<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to the 2017\/2018 school year!\u00a0 I am looking forward to a rewarding learning year getting to know and work with your fifth grade student.\u00a0 During the first weeks of school we will be spending time getting to know each other and learning classroom routines.\u00a0 It is important that we create a safe and healthy learning environment for all students so learning becomes easier to achieve.<\/p>\n<p>I have out together a useful informational sheet to help you and your child become familiar with my expectations for the school year.\u00a0 Please take some time to read through the information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOMEWORK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everyday your child will be bringing home a homework folder that includes a reading log.\u00a0 The homework that will be given is an extension of the learning that we taught in class that day.\u00a0 Reading is the key to your child\u2019s success in all areas of learning, so I expect them to read seven days a week for thirty minutes.\u00a0 Parents are required to sign their child\u2019s reading log daily.\u00a0 Reading logs will be checked daily.\u00a0 A student planner book will also be coming to help you keep track of your student\u2019s work it must be signed daily<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATER BOTTLES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school daily.\u00a0 Research shows that keeping ourselves hydrated helps our brains stay nourished!<\/p>\n<p><strong>WEEKLY SCHEDULE <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lunch: 12:15-12:45<\/p>\n<p>Monday: GYM 1:40-2:25<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday: Music 10:40-11:25<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday: MUSIC 12:50-1:35<\/p>\n<p>Thursday: TECHNOLOGY 9:00-9:45\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Art 2:30-3:15<\/p>\n<p>Friday: GYM 9:50-10:35<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT DATE REMINDERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open house is on Thursday, September 14, 2017<\/p>\n<p>Dearborn Public Schools supply all students with basic school supplies to use in the classroom.\u00a0 However, students do lose, break, and wear out many supplies.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.\u00a0 My email address
