{"id":427,"date":"2023-04-05T14:41:45","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T18:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsverrier\/?p=427"},"modified":"2023-04-05T14:41:46","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T18:41:46","slug":"important-please-read-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsverrier\/2023\/04\/05\/important-please-read-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Important- Please Read!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hello Families!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are moving into a VERY busy end of the year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to discuss the topic of responsibility and independence.&nbsp; I know that everyone is ready for Summer Break, but we still have 10 full weeks of school left.&nbsp; Our students have really been struggling following directions lately (responsibility) and completing things without my constant supervision (independence).&nbsp; To create a strong home and school connection, please make sure that your child is following a routine each morning and night.&nbsp; This means, they are getting themselves ready for school, they are coming home and completing their homework independently, and they have a set bedtime and get ready for bed on their own.&nbsp; By doing these things, you are helping them to understand that they can complete tasks all on their own, along with giving them a sense of responsibility and ownership.&nbsp; This will directly reflect what they can achieve in the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please remember, when I give students homework, it is for them to complete independently.&nbsp; I still have many parents completing (meaning writing out their child\u2019s homework) for them.&nbsp; This doesn&#8217;t allow me to know if your child is struggling or where they need more support.&nbsp; This also does not benefit your child.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, we will be having two field trips.\u00a0 The first will be on May 16th.\u00a0 We will be going to the Dearborn Historical Museum: Pioneer Program with 2nd graders from River Oaks.\u00a0 The cost of this field trip is $5.\u00a0 We will be sharing a bus with River Oaks.\u00a0 This field trip is only a \u00bd day, so we will be back in time for lunch.\u00a0 I will be sending home permission slips today.\u00a0 <strong>Please return them by Wednesday, April 12th.\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0You will receive information about our other May field trip next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going Home Today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>May 16th Field Trip Form-<strong> Due Wednesday, April 12th with $5.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are You Returning Next Year Form- <strong>Please write your child\u2019s first and last name on whichever line applies. Due- Monday, April 10th.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Report cards will be going home tomorrow.&nbsp; Please only return the envelope that they were sent home in, also sign the line with Q3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have a great night!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Families!
