We are learning to identify the upper and lowercase letter and make the sound of Pp.\u00a0 We learned a poem about\u00a0 a pig. Please continue helping your child write their first and last name at home.\u00a0 We began writer\u2019s workshop and are learning how to draw a picture and label it or write about it. Students should be practicing identifying the letters of the alphabet. Students should be able to make the sound of each letter.\u00a0 I will be testing the students weekly to see how many letters they can identify.\u00a0 In order for your child to be ready for kindergarten they must be able to identify all capital and lowercase letters and make the sound of every letter.\u00a0 Please have your child work on reading eggs at least 3 days a week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0We continue to work on shapes and numbers 0-5. Your student should be able to identify the number and show me how many for each number 0-5.\u00a0 We will review all the shapes and take a test on Friday, 10-120-17. Please\u00a0 have your child work on Math Seeds 3 days a week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social \u00a0Studies\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0We are learning about how to be a good citizen.\u00a0 We are learning to share and take our turn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>We\u00a0 completed our unit on the 5 senses and on apples.\u00a0 Due to technical difficulties we were unable to make applesauce.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Folders<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please make sure to\u00a0<strong>empty\u00a0<\/strong>the green folders each night! It is very difficult and time consuming to locate homework or important notes when the folder is full of papers from the day before.
