Thank you to all of the families that came out for Open\nHouse. It was fun to meet new parents and see past students. We had quite a few\nparents\u2019 sign up for conferences. Those\nwho did not get a chance will get a note about open times.
\n* We are finishing\nup the NWEA tests this week and will be getting into a real routine.
\n* I put a link on\nthe Social Studies page that lets you download an open textbook that we use sometimes\nduring the year. Remember to choose 5th grade under the download heading. We\nstart the year learning about our government and its 3 branches.
\n* In science we are\nworking on learning the Scientific Inquiry and the Properties of Matter.\nStudents will conduct experiments to learn about how matter reacts in different\ncircumstances, how to collect and record data, and construct arguments to\nsupport their findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
*By now students have signed up on Biblionasium<\/a> to keep track of their reading at home.
