{"id":323,"date":"2016-10-02T17:52:02","date_gmt":"2016-10-02T21:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrshalimi\/?p=323"},"modified":"2016-10-02T17:52:02","modified_gmt":"2016-10-02T21:52:02","slug":"field-trip-on-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrshalimi\/2016\/10\/02\/field-trip-on-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Field Trip on Tuesday!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>We have a wonderful field trip on Tuesday. \u00a0It\u2019s going to be a full day of hands-on science learning out in nature! \u00a0The students will be observing plant\/animal interactions and the adaptations that help these partnerships work for the benefit of both organisms. \u00a0We will also be collecting and identifying animals that live in a pond habitat. \u00a0It\u2019s going to be fun!<\/p>\n<p>A couple of things that are important:<\/p>\n<p>We will be in a wooded area\u2013long pants and appropriate shoes are important. \u00a0You can apply bug spray AT HOME to prevent mosquito bites (please do not send in a can). \u00a0Your child should also wear a hat to protect them from the sun and\/or apply sunscreen AT HOME. \u00a0Additionally, we will be eating lunch at the nature center. \u00a0Picnic tables are outside and there is an area indoors where students can \u201ccamp out\u201d with their lunches. \u00a0Please send a bagged lunch and something to drink with your child. \u00a0No food will be available to purchase at the nature center.<\/p>\n<p>A huge thank you to the parents who will be chaperoning. \u00a0You will be receiving a note home on Monday, explaining your duties. Plan to arrive at my classroom (room 33) at 9:00. \u00a0The office staff will be available to sign you in and issue you a sticker. \u00a0You will need to drive yourself to the field trip, since seating is limited on the bus. \u00a0Since we are technically at school, you will not be able to take your student home from the field trip. \u00a0Students must return to school on the bus.
