We have officially learned all the letters of the alphabet! \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spelling words to study for next week: <\/span><b>List 17: they, come, his, good, jam, yam, ram, clam, slam.<\/b> <b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please practice the extra cold -am words, as there will be a cold word for number 10 on the test! \u00a0<\/span><b><i>Extra words: swam. \u00a0<\/i><\/b><b><i>Our 17th test will be Friday, May 4th.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Word Family -am | Phonics Song for Kids | Jack Hartmann\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yKrmuy7XVUk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><b>Writing: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In writing, we finished our star student book and are doing some informational writing about ocean animals! \u00a0We are finding facts about ocean animals to use in our writing. How fun!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Math<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0We will continue to talk about subtraction and addition and greater than\/less than. We have a little bit of everything during our math workshop: greater than\/less than, count the room, smash it! subtraction, addition, missing numbers, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Math Quizzes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We have a math quiz on Friday, May 4th on math facts -5! \u00a0Please make the flashcards at home for your child to help them prepare for their math quiz. For extra practice at home (instead of the flash cards), you could also use counters (or food) for a visual representation of the math equation for your child. You can also practice with your child by having them put the big number in their head and the small number on their hands and then count up. Try to make it fun! Thank you!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Please note, all spelling and math tests will be counted for on your child&#8217;s report card.\u00a0 It is imperative to continue to study with your child on a daily basis.\u00a0 Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in this matter!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Out of 21 students today, who took the spelling test, 13 received a 100% and 6\u00a0 students only missed 1 to 2 \u00a0words!! This is a TOTAL victory! Way to go to my students and parents who worked so hard to ensure their child was successful for the Friday spelling test! \u00a0I will send the booklet home on Monday for you all to see how your child did:). <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember, to look over your child\u2019s spelling test booklet, sign on the line and return the booklet in the green folder the very next day (TUESDAY)! \u00a0It is imperative I receive them all back the next day!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Thank you!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Out of 21 students today, we had 12 students receive a 100% on their math quiz -4! \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>If your child is not performing at 70% or above, I suggest making flash cards for your child to practice at home with<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">! \u00a0Way to go to my 12 students. \u00a0I am so proud of you!!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please consider buying something from our Scholastic Book Club at: scholastic.com\/bookclubs Activation code: RKYTJ. \u00a0Our LAST due date for book orders will be Friday, June 1st. When you send in money for your child, whether it be for lunch, lunchroom snacks, field trip, please enclose the money in an ENVELOPE with your child\u2019s FIRST and LAST name on the front, indicate what the money is for and write my name as well: Mrs. Fillmore. \u00a0This will cause for less confusion for the lunch room and for the classroom. These programs are free for you to use, how awesome is that? \u00a0All you need to do is to show your child how to log in and they can begin learning! <\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><b><i>Parents, in the classroom, I am trying to teach each child to login typing their own username and password&#8230;independence is the name of the game! \u00a0\u00a0If you could be so kind, to help your child do the same at home, it would help so much!
