We have officially learned all the letters of the alphabet! \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spelling words to study for next week: <\/span><b>List 15: little, have, us, dog, log, jog, hog, blog, frog <\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please practice the extra cold -og words, as there will be a cold word for number 10 on the test! \u00a0<\/span><b><i>Extra words: clog. \u00a0<\/i><\/b><b><i>Our 15th test will be Friday, April 20th.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Word Family -og | Phonics Song for Kids | Jack Hartmann\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xKJ3BrF1A1Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><b>Writing: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In writing, we finished our star student book and are doing some informational writing about ocean animals! \u00a0Mrs. Nardone is with us during our writers workshop to help us become better and stronger writers! We have a little bit of everything during our math workshop: greater than\/less than, count the room, smash it! subtraction, addition, missing numbers, ones\/tens etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Math Quizzes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We have a math quiz on Friday, April 20th on math facts -3! \u00a0Please make the flashcards at home for your child to help them prepare for their math quiz. For extra practice at home (instead of the flash cards), you could also use counters (or food) for a visual representation of the math equation for your child. You can also practice with your child by having them put the big number in their head and the small number on their hands and then count up. Try to make it fun! Thank you for supporting your child with their addition skills!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Science<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: For the months of April-June we will move into Ocean Animals! \u00a0We completed a RAN and completed a fun ocean activity to go along with our RAN activity.\u00a0 I will post pictures of our RAN next week:)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Social Studies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0In April we will learn about Civics and Government. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Scholastic Reading Club<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Class Code &#8211; RKYTJ\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><b>Order Due Date &#8211; 04\/20\/18<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b> Dear Families,<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>This is a friendly reminder that your Book Clubs orders are due by 04\/20\/18. This is a TOTAL victory! Way to go to my students and parents who worked so hard to ensure their child was successful for the Friday spelling test! \u00a0I will send the booklet home on Monday for you all to see how your child did:). <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember, to look over your child\u2019s spelling test booklet, sign on the line and return the booklet in the green folder the very next day (TUESDAY)! \u00a0It is imperative I receive them all back the next day!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Thank you!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Out of 22 students today, we had 11 students receive a 100% on their math quiz -2! \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>If your child is not performing at 70% or above, I suggest making flash cards for your child to practice at home with<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">! \u00a0Way to go to my 11 students. \u00a0I am so proud of you!!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please consider buying something from our Scholastic Book Club at: scholastic.com\/bookclubs Activation code: RKYTJ. \u00a0Our due date for book orders will be Friday, April 20th. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Gym Days (Thursday and Friday), please make sure to send your child to school in Gym Shoes! \u00a0Mr. Peecher will have the kids sit on the stage if they are not wearing appropriate gym attire. Your child\u2019s safety is our main priority. \u00a0Thank you!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Parents, I need your help! When you send in money for your child, whether it be for lunch, lunchroom snacks, field trip, please enclose the money in an ENVELOPE with your child\u2019s FIRST and LAST name on the front, indicate what the money is for and write my name as well: Mrs. Fillmore. \u00a0This will cause for less confusion for the lunch room and for the classroom. Thank you!<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please make sure to log onto math seeds and reading eggs when there is downtime at home, especially on the weekends!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0I have laminated and attached logins\/passwords for EACH child on their communication log this week! \u00a0Please keep this in a safe place, so it doesn\u2019t get lost. These programs are free for you to use, how awesome is that? \u00a0All you need to do is to show your child how to log in and they can begin learning! <\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><b><i>Parents, in the classroom, I am trying to teach each child to login typing their own username and password&#8230;independence is the name of the game! \u00a0\u00a0If you could be so kind, to help your child do the same at home, it would help so much!
