We have officially learned all the letters of the alphabet! \u00a0Make sure to focus on these letters\/sounds at home to observe if your child has mastered each letter\/ sound that was taught in class. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spelling words to study for next week:\u00a0<\/span><b>List 8: no, he, of, we, men, hen, ten, pen, then. \u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please practice the extra -en words, as there will be an extra bonus word for number 10 on the test! \u00a0<\/span><b><i>Extra words: when, Ben, den. \u00a0<\/i><\/b><b><i>Our 8th test will be Friday, February 16th.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Word Family -en | Phonics Song for Kids | Jack Hartmann\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1o-SPIIjEGE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><b>Writing: \u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In writing, we finished our star student book! \u00a0\u00a0We are also learning how to use finger spaces in our sentences, write from left to right and using punctuation at the end of our sentences! \u00a0Please practice this at home when writing sentences with sight words!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Math:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We started our unit on addition and will continue addition into February! \u00a0\u00a0We have a little bit of everything during our math workshop: measurement, addition, counting, missing numbers, tally marks and one to one correspondence! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Math Quizzes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We have a math quiz on Friday, February 16th on math facts +7! \u00a0Please make the flashcards at home for your child to help them prepare for their math quiz. For extra practice at home (instead of the flash cards), you could also use counters (or food) for a visual representation of the math equation for your child. You can also practice with your child by having them put the big number in their head and the small number on their hands and then count up. Try to make it fun! Thank you for supporting your child with their addition skills!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Science<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: We are focusing on Polar Climate this month! \u00a0We are having a lot of fun with this topic! \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Social Studies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We started our unit on Maps!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>100th Day of School Project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0This project can be anything that is a collection of 100 items. \u00a0You can do them many different ways-posters with 100 items glued to it, collections of items sorted into baggies, 100 goldfish in a bowl, a 100 spots on a dog, etc. \u00a0Your child will share and count their project in class! \u00a0<\/span><b>These projects are due on Friday, February 16th!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0I can\u2019t wait to see what my families come up with!\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, students may choose to dress up like an &#8220;old person&#8221;\u00a0 on the 100th day of school!\u00a0 Sometimes the children come with gray hair, glasses, suspenders, night gowns, pearls, hair rollers, etc.\u00a0 I love seeing the children&#8217;s interpretations of what it looks like and feels like to be 100 years old!!\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.xl.thumbs.canstockphoto.com\/old-people-clipart-vector_csp37938950.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for old people clip art\" width=\"280\" height=\"304\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Scholastic Reading Club<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><b>Scholastic Book Clubs Class Order Due Date is approaching!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Class Code &#8211; RKYTJ<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Order Due Date &#8211; 02\/26\/18<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Dear Families,This is a friendly reminder that your Book Clubs orders are due by 02\/26\/18. When you send in money for your child, whether it be for lunch, lunchroom snacks, field trip, please enclose the money in an ENVELOPE with your child\u2019s FIRST and LAST name on the front, indicate 400;\">Please make sure to log onto math seeds and reading eggs when there is downtime at home, especially on the weekends! \u00a0I have laminated and attached logins\/passwords for EACH child on their communication log this week! \u00a0Please keep this in a safe place, so it doesn\u2019t get lost. \u00a0These programs are free for you to use, how awesome is that? \u00a0All you need to do is to show your child how to log in and they can begin learning! <b>\u00a0<\/b><b><i>Parents, in the classroom, I am trying to teach each child to login typing their own username and buddies and boy was it a special meeting.\u00a0 The 4th graders presented their reading buddy with a hand crafted Valentine&#8217;s Day card and some kind gifts the 4th graders made and or bought for their Reading Buddy.\u00a0 How special is that????\u00a0 I must say, Ms. Cronin&#8217;s group is a special group of kids, that&#8217;s for sure&lt;3\u00a0 After, the students enjoyed Valentine&#8217;s Day graphing with M &amp; M&#8217;s and then enjoyed some popcorn together.\u00a0 What a great day it was with our Reading Buddies!\u00a0 Enjoy the pictures:)<\/p>\n<p><a
