{"id":208,"date":"2017-10-13T14:58:37","date_gmt":"2017-10-13T18:58:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsfillmore\/?p=208"},"modified":"2017-10-13T22:21:17","modified_gmt":"2017-10-14T02:21:17","slug":"newsletter-for-week-6-recap-new-info","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsfillmore\/2017\/10\/13\/newsletter-for-week-6-recap-new-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Newsletter for Week 6 (Recap &#038; NEW info)!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What we did during our week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Language Arts and Writing:<\/u><\/strong> We worked on recognizing and writing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BMLtpWCdBeY\">letter E<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yZjEtwr8Q4o\">letter V.<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0Click on the link (on the letters)\u00a0 we learned this week!\u00a0 I have attached the videos we watch in class to guide us in our learning!\u00a0 Also,\u00a0 make sure to ask your child what sound each letter makes.<\/p>\n<p>We have been working more on our writing. I am sure you have noticed a difference in your child\u2019s writing; I know I have!\u00a0 We are practicing stretching out the sounds in a word and using some inventive spelling during our writer\u2019s workshop.\u00a0 If your child is coming home and trying to stretch out the sounds, that is wonderful news!\u00a0 It means they are one step closer to becoming a leader in reading and writing!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Math<\/u><\/strong>: We practiced recognizing, writing and representing numbers 11 and 12. **Again, we now have math seeds! Please start to use this at home in addition to reading eggs. The login and password is the same for math seeds!\u00a0 Everyone\u2019s password is: <strong>kind. <\/strong>We&#8217;ve been having fun with our Halloween math centers this week: we have been working on tens frames, and one-to-one correspondence with numbers during our math centers.
