Please practice writing inside the lines at home with your child; especially on the homework:)   Next week we will focus on letters D &amp; W.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>: This week we focused on Module 1: Lessons 10-13. Next week we will complete Lessons 14-16.&nbsp; Monday we will do lesson 14, Tuesday lesson 15 and so on.  Please make sure you are following along in the Eureka math homework book and completing the lessons at home with your child:)&nbsp; Next week, your child will have a mid-module test to see what they have learned so far!&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Science<\/strong>:&nbsp; For September, we will focus on the 5 senses.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong>: &nbsp; For September, will will focus on rules and procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GREAT NEWS!&nbsp; <\/strong>We have a book club online at scholastic.com!&nbsp; Each month there are awesome deals with latest and the most reasonably priced books online!&nbsp; All you do is order at the link below, use the code and your books will be sent home to you within 5 days:)&nbsp; It\u2019s a great way to build your child\u2019s library at home and books also make great gifts as well:)  All the information is below! &nbsp; Happy reading!<br><strong>Scholastic Reading Club<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Class Code &#8211; RKYTJ &nbsp; &nbsp; Order Due Date &#8211; 09\/27\/19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dear Families,&nbsp; This is a friendly reminder that your Book Clubs orders are due by 09\/27\/19. You can place your orders online at <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/scholastic.com\/readingclub\"><strong>scholastic.com\/bookclubs<\/strong><\/a><strong> using my class activation code: RKYTJ<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Happy Reading, Mrs. Fillmore<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&nbsp;Homework packets will come home on Monday!&nbsp; Please read over the direction page and complete a half sheet each day.&nbsp; The packet is due back to school every Friday! <strong><em> If there is no school on Friday, the homework will be due on Thursday.<\/em><\/strong>  Remember, reading with your child 15 minutes a night is also a part of our homework! You may use the reading websites (I sent home earlier this week), to complete the reading portion of homework as well:) In November, we will start having a monthly reading log sent home!<\/li><li>Make sure to go on the learning websites that Haigh has purchased for all of our students! These websites are great extension activities in Math and Reading that are full of fun and learning! Thank you for your cooperation!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Please talk about what your child is doing for lunch each day.\u00a0 We are still having some trouble with students not understanding the DIFFERENCE between snack and lunch!\u00a0 I appreciate you taking the time and talking with your child:)<\/span><\/em><\/li><li><em>Please make sure to go through your child\u2019s folder each night, look at\u00a0 your child\u2019s work (see how they did), look at behavior, read any notes and sign in each day.\u00a0 Looking at your child\u2019s work and behavior will give you an idea of how your child is doing in class.\u00a0 If your child is unable to complete any work in class, it will be sent home for homework and expected to be brought back the next day completed.\u00a0 Thank you for your cooperation!\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/li><li><em>Please be on the look out to sign up for volunteer opportunities at Haigh via signupgenius.com. Please make sure your child is turning in their library book each week, so they can receive a new book to read at home:) <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Upcoming Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 4th- <\/strong>Picture day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 11th<\/strong>&#8211; \u00bd day of school!&nbsp; Students are dismissed at 11:40 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16th- <\/strong>Late start. Students arrive an hour later at 9:35 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we had our first PBIS yard game celebration for our students who didn&#8217;t flip their card for the month of September!  We love to recognize our students who work hard everyday and make good choices!  The students had a blast!
