What we did during our week:<\/b><\/p>\n
Language Arts and Writing: We worked on recognizing and writing the letter A and the letter Z. <\/span><\/p>\n Math: We practiced recognizing, writing and representing numbers 1, 2, and 3. In addition, we learned about circles, and squares.<\/span><\/p>\n Science: We are learning about our five senses! This week we focused on sight, and smell.<\/span><\/p>\n Social Studies: This week we spent a lot of time getting used to being in kindergarten all day! We continued to go over some rules and procedures. \u00a0 Please ask your child about the 5 golden rules we follow in the classroom to keep us safe and help us learn: looking eyes, hands to self, inside voices, listening ears and walking feet. \u00a0Also, we are learning what it means to be a friend to one another in our classes:) \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Important Information:<\/b><\/p>\n Thank you for coming to open house – it was great to see all of you, and share a little bit about each of our classes! \u00a0I really enjoyed meeting all of you!<\/span><\/p>\n We will be going on a field trip to the Apple Orchard in Plymouth on October 3rd. Permission slips and more information will be sent home next week. The form and money are BOTH due by September 29th. \u00a0 Thank you!<\/span><\/p>\n Homework will start to be sent home next week. It comes home on Monday, and is due by Friday. However, due to a 4 day week, please try and have it in by Thursday. \u00a0<\/em>I have attached reading egg logins and password for each child in the classroom! \u00a0Make sure to head over to readingeggs.com and have some fun reading \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0The link for reading eggs is also under the tab that says “Educational Websites” on our blog. \u00a0Don’t forget to complete the reading log each night (located in your child’s homework packet)!<\/span><\/p>\n Please remember to empty your child\u2019s green folder every night and return to school the next day. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Communication Log Update: \u00a0Communication logs will be inserted on the side of the folder that says “Return to School.” \u00a0It will be too difficult to take them in and out of prongs each week. \u00a0Instead, I will just place the log in the folder for you to see and sign and to keep in the folder. \u00a0Thank you!<\/p>\n When you send money in for lunches, field trips, etc. please place it in a bag or envelope and label it with your child\u2019s name and teacher name: Mrs. Fillmore. \u00a0Thank you!<\/span><\/p>\n Please write your child\u2019s name on their HEALTHY snack \u00a0and keep it separate from their school lunch. \u00a0Also, please let your child know or indicate on the communication log if your child is getting a school lunch, that way I know who brought a lunch and who is buying a lunch. \u00a0Your child may bring in a reusable water bottle in the class. \u00a0Make sure you have your child’s name is written on their reusable water bottle. \u00a0 NO juice please, it makes for a big sticky mess in the classroom, if spilled.<\/span><\/p>\n As always email me with any questions you may have. \u00a0All my contact information is located under the “Contact Info.” \u00a0I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!<\/p>\n Upcoming Events:<\/b><\/p>\n September 22nd – NO SCHOOL for kindergarten only!<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n October 3 – Field Trip to Apple Orchard!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What we did during our week: Language Arts and Writing: We worked on recognizing and writing the letter A and the letter Z.
