{"id":1384,"date":"2018-11-20T14:21:29","date_gmt":"2018-11-20T19:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsfillmore\/?p=1384"},"modified":"2018-11-20T14:21:29","modified_gmt":"2018-11-20T19:21:29","slug":"thankful-newsletter-other-things-week-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsfillmore\/2018\/11\/20\/thankful-newsletter-other-things-week-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Thankful Newsletter &#038; other things (Week 13)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hello Families,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would like to take a moment and give thanks to all of you! \u00a0I am so grateful to work in a district where education comes first and where parents truly care about their child\u2019s future. \u00a0I receive so many \u201cthank you\u201d notes and or cards throughout the week and I just want you to all know I see them and I read them.\u00a0 \u00a0 Those small gestures of \u201cthanks\u201d really gives me satisfaction in knowing that this is where I am meant to be! \u00a0I am thankful for my students and families at Haigh Elementary! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/housewithaheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Thankful-and-Grateful-1024x875.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for grateful\" width=\"627\" height=\"536\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the break there will be no homework:) \u00a0Please help your child catch up on letters\/sounds, counting, identifying numbers to 20 and sight word list (highlighted words), RAZ kids, reading eggs\/math seeds; Whatever they may need to work on:) <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Other:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We finished our unit on Turkeys by making our Thankful Turkeys for the classroom. \u00a0The kids worked really hard these last two weeks and their work shows. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heads up: \u00a0spelling tests start the week of December 3rd. \u00a0Homework will reflect the 10 spelling words we are focusing on each week. \u00a0Our spelling tests will generally take place every Friday. Each test, for the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">whole<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> year, is taken in 1 booklet. \u00a0I will grade the tests over the weekend and send the booklet home with your child the following Monday for you to view. Please look through the test on Monday (to see how your child did), sign on the parent signature line and send the booklet back in their green folder on Tuesday. <\/span><b>Please make sure that the booklet comes back every Tuesday so I can collect them to distribute again on Friday for the following test. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0If for some reason your child loses the booklet, you will be responsible for making them another spelling booklet. <\/span><b>Remember:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> your child will have to spell and write each word in the booklet.
