{"id":1031,"date":"2018-08-24T18:14:18","date_gmt":"2018-08-24T22:14:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsfillmore\/?p=1031"},"modified":"2018-08-24T18:19:48","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T22:19:48","slug":"welcome-new-families-to-the-2018-2019-school-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsfillmore\/2018\/08\/24\/welcome-new-families-to-the-2018-2019-school-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome NEW Families to the 2018\/2019 School Year!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Families and Welcome to our classroom blog!\u00a0 Here you will find a ton of information about the classroom and our school.\u00a0 Please take a moment to browse around and look at the different links I have provided for you under the &#8220;pages&#8221; heading.\u00a0 I am so happy you are here!<\/p>\n<p>A Few Things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please download and sign up for minute to minute to text updates, from the classroom, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.remind.com\/\">Remind App.<\/a>\u00a0 Here is the link and information needed to receive text messages straight from the classroom:)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.remind.com\/join\/mfillm\">https:\/\/www.remind.com\/join\/mfillm<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The school day starts at 8:35am!\u00a0 Remember that the first week of school are half days.\u00a0 Students will be dismissed at 11:40am promptly!\u00a0 Please make arrangements for your child for the 1\/2 days this week.\u00a0 Thank you:)\u00a0 Remember: NO school on Friday, August 31st!\u00a0 School resumes Tuesday, September 4th.<\/li>\n<li>Please make sure to pack a healthy snack for your child EACH and every day and a reusable water bottle, with ONLY water inside.\u00a0 Sending in a reusable water bottle will help aide in less spills and easy access for the students at their tables.\u00a0 Juice is too sticky and messy, so I ask you only provide your child with water only.\u00a0 Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!\u00a0 Just a reminder, a snack will not be provided by the classroom teacher.<\/li>\n<li>We have a handful of students with severe allergies in classroom that includes (nuts, chickpeas cashews, sesame oil, eggs, peanuts, gluten, dairy, etc). Please reiterate with your child that he or she will not be able to share snacks with friends in the classroom.\u00a0 This will be something I reinforce everyday as well.\u00a0 With that being said, we will not be able to have any outside food in the classroom for any occasion.\u00a0 We will put our students, with allergies, at severe risk by doing so.\u00a0 Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to bring in all supplies the first day\/week of school.\u00a0 Also, please don&#8217;t forgot to provide your child with an emergency set of clothes (shirt, pants, socks, underwear, shoes) and make sure to label all of their clothing items!\u00a0 \u00a0You can find much more information in the welcome letter under the heading &#8220;Class Info.&#8221;\u00a0 Here you will find all the information needed to make the first week a success!<\/li>\n<li>The tentative special schedule is posted on this blog as well.\u00a0 Please make sure you are aware when gym days are and our library check out dates!\u00a0 This will ensure your child is prepared successfully for these special days at school!<\/li>\n<li>If you ever have any questions, you can email me at fillmoa@dearbornschools.org or message me on the blog.<\/li>\n<li>Parents: please come prepared on the first day to help sort all of the classroom supplies you purchased, walk your child around the classroom and show them their table, locker, the bathroom, etc\u00a0 and last but not least; make sure to spoil your child with hugs and kisses before you leave:)\u00a0\u00a0I can&#8217;t wait to meet all of you on Monday, August 27th:)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Families and Welcome to our classroom blog!\u00a0 Here you will find a ton of information about the classroom and our school.\u00a0 Please take a moment to browse around and look at the different links I have provided for you under the &#8220;pages&#8221; heading.\u00a0 I am so happy you are here!
