My name is Elizabeth Donelson and I will be your child’s teacher this school year. The beginning of this year marks my twenty-fifth year in teaching. I have spent my entire career in lower elementary. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate in Elementary Education K-5 and an endorsement in Science and Social Studies 6-8 from Eastern Michigan University. I also have a Master’s Degree in Language Arts from Eastern Michigan. Aside from teaching, I have three children that I adore. I have two daughters named Ell and Conaire. Ell works in marketing and Conaire works for an ophthalmologist office in Dearborn. I have a son, Liam, who is entering the eleventh grade.

First grade is such an exciting time because your child will experience many “firsts” this year. As your child’s teacher, I am looking forward to being with them on this journey. Teaching is more than a job to me. My goal, as your child’s teacher, is to dedicate myself to teach your child to love and believe in themselves and provide them with the tools necessary to be successful individuals as well as students. I hold high expectations for every child in the classroom and will do my very best to help your child meet these expectations in a loving and compassionate way.

I am looking forward to an exciting and very productive year with your child. You will hear from me regularly because YOU are the most important person in your child’s life. Your involvement and support in their education are extremely important. I feel very strongly that in addition to the work we do at school, there is a lot that has to be done a home too. Your child’s learning depends on our partnership. Working together, we’ll guide your child on the road to success!

I’m sure this year will be a wonderful year for your child in Room #26!
