{"id":352,"date":"2014-02-06T15:11:33","date_gmt":"2014-02-06T20:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsbush\/?p=352"},"modified":"2014-02-06T15:11:33","modified_gmt":"2014-02-06T20:11:33","slug":"february-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/mrsbush\/2014\/02\/06\/february-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"February Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a curriculum update:<\/p>\n<p>Our historians and scientists are doing a great job informing us of new things and learning presentation skills (speaker voice, eye contact with the audience).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>&#8211; Geometry with line segments, rays, angles and rotations. \u00a0 \u00a0We will have the Unit 6 test on Wednesday. \u00a0Unit 7 will focus on multiplication story problems. \u00a0WE NEED TO KNOW OUR FACTS!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studie<\/strong>s- 3 Branches of Government Executive (enforces the laws), Legislature (creates the laws) and Judicial (INTERPRETS the laws, are they fair?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science-<\/strong>\u00a0Earth Science \u00a0We are <strong>writing<\/strong> a research paper to answer the question How do we use solar energy? \u00a0It is important so we save limited resources like gas, coal and oil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong>&#8211; we are<em> close reading (using symbols to notice important ieas and vocabulary words)<\/em>\u00a0articles about solar energy and other non-fiction topics like the Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PLEASE read daily with your child and practice multiplication facts up to the 6s. \u00a0Next week we will focus on 7&#8217;s and 8&#8217;s. \u00a0After break we will do 9&#8217;s, 10&#8217;s and 11&#8217;s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a curriculum update: Our historians and scientists are doing a great job informing us of new things and learning presentation skills (speaker voice, eye contact with the audience).
