We will be\u00a0reviewing and editing our stories from last week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c74693;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u00a0District\u00a0Writing Exam 10\/5-10\/9\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Reading\u2013<\/span> <b>Building stamina.\u00a0<\/b>Stamina is the ability to sustain prolonged mental effort. In our class we will be building stamina with our independent reading during Daily 5.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Spelling\u2013<\/span>\u00a0Students are expected to practice at home and at school daily in order to be prepared for our weekly spelling test on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c4\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Spelling words:<\/span> Multisyllabic words- Short Vowels (i and 0)<b>:<\/b><strong>\u00a0person, interest, district, trim, adopt, strong, common, timber, grin, blog<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0(please study all words, only <em>some<\/em> will appear on the test.)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span class=\"c2\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 Content Area Words:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"c4\"><strong>question, experiment, hypothesis, solution, conclusion<\/strong>\u00a0(please study all words, all words will appear on the test.)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Science\u2013<\/span>\u00a0<strong>Matter Unit.\u00a0<\/strong>In this physical science unit students explore the properties of matter, emphasizing mass and volume. This may be broken up into smaller chunks of time if necessary.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Practice math facts-<\/strong> times tables, metal addition &amp; subtraction.<\/li>\n<li><b>Practice spelling words\u00a0<\/b>(listed below &amp; in your child\u2019s planner)<\/li>\n<li><b>Incomplete work<\/b>\u2013 daily unfinished work may be sent home for students to complete and return the following school day. Your child is responsible for writing down incomplete assignments in his\/her planner and for turning them in the next day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Handwriting<\/strong> \u2013 students may practice both manuscript, or \u201cregular\u201d handwriting, as well as cursive writing to help improve the neatness of their handwriting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Practice vocabulary<\/strong>\u2013 memorize the key concepts &amp; their definitions for Science &amp; Social Studies.
