{"id":216,"date":"2019-12-13T12:36:49","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:36:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/moisa\/?p=216"},"modified":"2019-12-13T12:36:50","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:36:50","slug":"week-of-december-16-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/moisa\/2019\/12\/13\/week-of-december-16-20\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of December 16- 20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hello Families!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can you believe this is our last week before our Winter Break?&nbsp; This week is a short one but super busy. &nbsp;Please continue to work with your children at home on everything we are working on in class. &nbsp;The long break is a great opportunity to practice all the skills we are working on in class. &nbsp;You and your child can practice their names, the 14 letters we have learned (uppercase and lowercase) and shapes.&nbsp; Please take the time away from school to enjoy the winter weather, your families and all the activities you might want to do!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What We Are Learning\u2026<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Names-<\/span><br>We are learning to recognize the letters in our name and the order the letters go in. Please practice on recognizing the letters in your child\u2019s name and the order in which they go (Rajaa- R-a-j-a-a). If your child knows the letters in their name and the order they go in, please continue working on writing their name. The first letter in their name is the only letter to be a capital, all the rest are lowercase (Rajaa).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Letters-<\/span><br>We are learning 2 new letters this week!\u00a0 Students will learn to identify the letters, the sound, recognize the letter in print and write the letter on their own.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget to practice previously learned letters.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jj- Jumping Jill<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dd- Dudley Duck&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please review letters- Ll- Larry Lion, Ff- Fifi Fish, Ee- Edna Elephant, Hh- Hattie Horse, Tt- Tiggy Tiger, Ii- Iggy Iguana, Uu- Umbie Umbrella, Cc- Callie Cat, Oo- Ozzie Octopus, Qq- Queenie Queen, Gg- Gertie Goose, Ss- Sammy Seal<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shapes-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We are learning another new shape this week.&nbsp; Please practice all the shapes and their characteristics (circle- no sides, no corners, square- 4 sides, 4 corners, triangle- 3 sides, 3 corners).&nbsp; You can have your child find these shapes at home and in books along with having your child practice drawing them.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Diamond&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please review shapes square, triangle, rectangle, oval<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Reminders-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wednesday (December 18) is Pajama&nbsp; Day.&nbsp; Please have your child wear their favorite pajamas to school!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thursday (December 19) is Parent Fair at Cotter.&nbsp; Please refer to the notes that have been sent home.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No School December 23- January 3.&nbsp; Enjoy your time off!!!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Families!
