{"id":209,"date":"2019-12-08T11:52:17","date_gmt":"2019-12-08T16:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/moisa\/?p=209"},"modified":"2019-12-08T11:52:18","modified_gmt":"2019-12-08T16:52:18","slug":"week-of-december-2-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/moisa\/2019\/12\/08\/week-of-december-2-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of December 2- 6"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hello Dear Families!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I hope that everyone had a restful Thanksgiving break and enjoyed the long weekend.&nbsp; As you know the days are flying by us quickly while we attempt to accomplish many different tasks here at school.&nbsp; Please continue working with your child at home on their names, letters. shapes, colors, numbers, independence and self-help skills.&nbsp; The kiddos are showing tremendous growth!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What We Are Learning\u2026<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Names-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We are learning to recognize the letters in our name and the order the letters go in.&nbsp; Please practice on recognizing the letters in your child\u2019s name and the order in which they go (Rajaa- R-a-j-a-a).&nbsp; If your child knows the letters in their name and the order they go in, please begin working on writing their name.&nbsp; The first letter in their name is the only letter to be a capital, all the rest are lowercase (Rajaa).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Letters-\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">As our letter journey continues, we will learn 2 more letters this week.&nbsp; Students will learn to identify the letters, the sound, recognize the letter in print and write the letter on their own.&nbsp; Please make sure you are checking the blog for updates so you can help work with your child at home.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t forget to practice previously learned letters.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oo- Ozzy Octopus<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qq- Queenie Queen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please review letters- Ll- Larry Lion, Ff- Fifi Fish, Ee- Edna Elephant, Hh- Hattie Horse, Tt- Tiggy Tiger, Ii- Iggy Iguana, Uu- Umbie Umbrella, Cc- Callie Cat<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shapes-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We have started learning shapes!&nbsp; Please talk with your child about what makes up each shape (sides, corners) and talk about how shapes can come in different sizes and still be the same shape.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Triangle (3 sides\/ 3 corners)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rectangle (4 sides- 2 long, 2 short\/ 4 corners)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Reminders-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please make sure you continue to dress your child for the weather!&nbsp; We love to be outside and explore when the weather permits!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please continue to check the blog and your calendar for upcoming dates and events.<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Dear Families!
