My role as English Language Development Specialist is to collaborate and co-teach best practices of literacy & language instruction with teachers in classrooms in whole group and small group settings.<\/p>\n
My mission is increase student achievement through utilizing best practices in partnership coaching and co-teaching with classroom teachers.<\/p>\n
Goals:<\/b><\/p>\n
1. To co-teach with classroom teachers during classroom literacy instruction.<\/p>\n
2. To co-teach small group instruction with the lowest 30% of students.<\/p>\n
3. To collaborate with the leadership team to facilitate professional learning.<\/p>\n
4. To model and observe best practices strategies in whole group, small group, or one on one to facilitate teacher’s professional learning.<\/p>\n
5. To participate actively in school MTSS (multi-tiered system of support) process regarding the needs of the lowest 30% students.<\/p>\n
6. To assist teachers in the art of reflection to improve their practice to ultimately increase student achievement.<\/p>\n
Co-teaching is an embedded professional learning activity for district teachers. Teachers volunteer to partner with the ELD specialist on an element of instructional practice of their choice.<\/p>\n
