What We Did During Our Week:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Language Arts and Writing:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This week we worked on the parts of a story. We’ve discussed this before but it is always something to revisit! We talked about setting, character, problem and solution. As I meet with small groups they will be getting their own ‘retell’ rope. This will come home in their green book bags and be sure to have them go through this after reading each book! We wrote our star student books for Naba, and Hussein.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

March is reading month! A calendar should have come home with different reading activities you can do with your child. There is a spirit week, so check the calendar for more information on that! We read a scholastic article on Dr. Seuss and learned about his funky style. They love getting to read these articles!<\/p>\n

Next Week’s spelling words:<\/p>\n

with, play, has, be, hot, not, dot, got, shot<\/p>\n

Coming to read to our class:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Inside our pick up and drop off doors I have placed a signup for coming in to read to our class. If you would like to bring in a book and read to the class sign up on the available slots right inside the door. Only 1 parent per slot please – all slots are at 3pm. Hope to see some of you in our class to read! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Math:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This week was our last week of February math centers – new math centers to come next week! We worked on subtraction, but also number bonds. We were supposed to take our +8 test but did not due to the snow day , +9 is next week.<\/p>\n

Social Studies:<\/strong><\/span> We continue to learn about maps. We read an article on maps, and were going to create a map of our own on Friday with our big buddies – but happy snow day instead!<\/p>\n

Other:<\/strong> <\/span>We had a pep really to get excited about March is reading month!<\/p>\n

Wednesday was PBIS – the kids got to build castles with red solo cups.<\/p>\n

Nice weather this meant meant some extra recess \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
