What we Did During Our Week:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Language Arts:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>We have finished the alphabet! M & N were the last letters we needed to cover so we are officially done! Now, we can spend more time on spelling words, decoding words, and improving our writing. This week we traveled to Sweden and India! The kids loved learning about St. Lucia helping people in Sweden, and about all the festivities that happen during Diwali in India.\u00a0 We also wrote about our star student, Zineb.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Spelling Tests:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

We take our spelling tests on Friday – every test, for the whole year, is taken in 1 booklet. \u00a0We will grade the test over the weekend and send the booklet home with your child the following Monday. You need to look through the test on Monday, sign on the parent signature line and send the booklet back in their green folder on Tuesday. Please make sure that the booklet comes back every Tuesday so I can collect them to distribute again on Friday for the following test.<\/span><\/p>\n

Math:<\/strong><\/span> We continued working on our math centers – with a focus on measuring. We took our first math test. Next Friday will be the same but all facts will be +1. Please continue to work on these addition facts with your child for next week’s test!<\/p>\n

Science:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 We finished up our seasons unit, and took a test on the seasons. We will be starting a new unit after break!<\/p>\n

Other:<\/strong><\/span> We were the winners for classes K-2 for lunchroom behavior! Each student got to pick a piece of candy or a bag of chips from the cafeteria as their prize.<\/p>\n

Next Wednesday (20th), we will be having a Polar Express party – your child may wear their pajamas to school, and bring slippers to wear as well. Of course, send them in their snow boots or tennis shoes and they can change into their slippers once at school. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
