What we did during our week:<\/b><\/p>\n

Language Arts and Writing<\/b>: We worked on recognizing and writing the letter F and the letter U. These are the letters we have learned thus far: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff and Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy and Zz. \u00a0Make sure to focus on these letters at home to observe if your child has mastered each letter that was taught in class. \u00a0Also, please make sure to go over LIST ONE for the sight word list; make it a part of their homework routine. We also have started writing some sentences! This week we wrote what kind of food we like. We spelled “I like” together, and they stretched out the food on their own. We are all in different stages of inventive writing – check out some of work below!<\/span><\/p>\n

“I like pepperoni pizza”<\/p>\n

“I like french fries” (We hear the prominent consonant sounds here!)<\/p>\n

“I like chicken nuggets.”<\/p>\n

Today, we practiced our sight words with a game called \u201cWhack-a-word!\u201d Some students LOVED it and requested that they be able to play at home. For the game, there are whack-a-word mats, and a PowerPoint that has a timer with a sight word. Your child must \u2018whack\u2019 the sight word before the timer runs out! If your child is interested in playing the game, send me an e-mail and I can send you the materials that are needed. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

Math:<\/b> We practiced recognizing, writing and representing numbers 13 and 14 and we learned what 3D shapes are (cube, sphere, cylinder, rectangular prism and cone)! \u00a0We had fun with 2D and 3D shape Bingo in preparation for next week\u2019s positive behavior party!<\/span><\/p>\n

Science<\/b>: We have been learning about push and pull and we did an experiment with magnets! The kids loved seeing the magnets push and pull. Try it out at home again. \ud83d\ude42 <\/span><\/p>\n

Social Studies<\/b>: <\/span>We are still working on how to get along with others by using the words like, \u201cplease,\u201d \u201cthank you\u201d and using words to express their feelings.<\/span><\/p>\n
