Grades are being entered for Report Cards as I type. \u00a0Conferences are coming up on the 10th, 16th and 17th. \u00a0Can you believe it? \u00a0It seems like our babies were born yesterday. \u00a0Here is what we are working on in our classroom.<\/p>\n
Math – We are just beginning Unit 3 which focuses mainly on measurement. \u00a0Your child will continue to get Homelinks almost every night. \u00a0Please check to see that they are understanding the concepts being taught.<\/p>\n
Daily 5 – We have spent a lot of time building stamina and independence for this program. \u00a0If does not work effectively if everyone is not on task. \u00a0We have spent many weeks going over rules and activities for Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Work on Writing and Word Work. \u00a0Our reading groups are formed and new chapter books are about to begin.<\/p>\n
Science – We are finishing our unit on Forces and Motion. \u00a0The next subject we will study is light.<\/p>\n
Social Studies – MICHIGAN! \u00a0We have been looking at landforms, bodies of water, vegetation, climate, and precipitation. \u00a0This week we focused on our state symbols.<\/p>\n
Writing – The students are learning how to write an Opinion paper.<\/p>\n
Our classroom is in need of tissue and soap. \u00a0I know you keep reading this, but with the colder temperatures upon us, we have a lot of little runny noses and hands that need to be washed.<\/p>\n
