{"id":468,"date":"2019-09-06T19:36:29","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T23:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/miniandlittlescholars\/?p=468"},"modified":"2019-09-06T19:36:31","modified_gmt":"2019-09-06T23:36:31","slug":"week-of-september-9th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/miniandlittlescholars\/2019\/09\/06\/week-of-september-9th\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of September 9th"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope that\nall of you have enjoyed the first week of school.&nbsp; The students are starting to become\ncomfortable in their new learning environment.&nbsp;\nThis week in class we talked about our classroom community and how to\nget along with are new classmates, we also went over classroom rules.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme\nfor the week of September 9<sup>th<\/sup> will be all about me.&nbsp; We will talk about student\u2019s favorite foods,\ncolors, number and families.&nbsp; We ask that\nstudent bring a picture of their family to school this week so they can share\nit with the class.&nbsp; This will also make\nthe students feel more comfortable during their first full week of school.&nbsp; We will return the pictures once we are\nfinished.&nbsp; We will also be introducing the\nletter A this week, in the Little Scholar class students will be learning how\nto hold a writing utensil, this will be done by working on the letter A and learning\nhow to write their first names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In mini\nscholars we will learn about the letter A by pasting objects that begin with\nthe letter A. Students will be working on their fine motor skills by using glue\nsticks and learning how to draw lines with their crayons.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both classes\nare doing great with adjusting to the start of school.&nbsp; I will be sending out a monthly calendar with\nimportant dates to remember.&nbsp; This month\nwith the start of school we do not have any special activities planned.&nbsp; The special activities will start in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting\nnext week students will be receiving the ME bag this is a show in tell bag. &nbsp;Each day a different student will receive the\nME bag and they can bring in something for show in tell to share with the\nclass.&nbsp; We will also be starting story\nbags as well. This will have a story with crayons and a notebook.&nbsp; Students can read the story with their\nparents and draw a picture about the story.
