I wish that I could say that this happened in kindergarten but I actually found the power of the written word in high school.  How can we help our elementary students become writers?  Make it authentic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Provide Authentic  Writing Opportunities: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-The writing task needs to be engaging and have a clear purpose.  This will give students the opportunity to write about something that they have knowledge of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure That There is a Real Audience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-We need to know our audience when we&#8217;re writing.
