It had been difficult to do so, due to the WIDA testing and NWEA, so it&#8217;s nice to get back to a normal schedule this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students have been working on a paragraph analyzing the protagonist of &#8220;Aaron&#8217;s Gift&#8221; by Myron Levoy, and have been deciding if Aaron is a positive role model for kids.  They chose 2 character traits to prove that he is a positive role model, and also chose 2 pieces of text evidence to support their claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, they will be revising and editing their peers&#8217; work in class, so it is important that they have a clean copy (2nd draft) on lined paper.  In looking at past students&#8217; writing, here are some things that this year&#8217;s students noticed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.snipboard.io\/HnxGz8.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Homework this week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Monday<\/em><strong><em>: <\/em>Read for 20 minutes each night this week.  Record 2 reactions to your book on your metacognitive logs.  Eight will be due this Friday.  Make sure to bring your C.E.R. 2nd draft tomorrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Tuesday<\/em>:  Read for 20 minutes each night this week.  Record 2 reactions to your book on your metacognitive logs.  Eight will be due this Friday. <strong>Informational Text Structures Packet due Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <em>Wednesday<\/em>:  Read for 20 minutes each night this week.  Record 2 reactions to your book on your metacognitive logs. Record 2 reactions to your book on your metacognitive logs.  Eight will be due this Friday.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday: Students will be required to master 6 or more words from the &#8220;Super\/Sub&#8221; vocabulary.com list by 2\/23\/20.  You may work ahead if you will be out of town or unable to reach a computer over break.
