Hello Families!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been working diligently and loving the time we share together! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to say a special thank you to each of you for helping us meet our classroom goal of collecting food items for needy families! We surpassed our goal of 100 items!!!! As a school, we also surpassed our goal, collecting over 1000 food items!!!! Thank you all so much for your generousity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We learned facts about turkeys! We then created adorable 2D shape turkeys!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We practiced position words!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We made poppy flowers to wear in honor and rememberance for Veteran’s Day!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We tried pumpkin pie!!! Some friends liked it! Some friends did not!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
We graphed our opinions! Yes if we liked the pumpkin pie and No if we did not like the pumpkin pie! Overall, our class liked the pumpkin pie!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Chochol visited us! She read a lovely book called, “The Empty Pot” by Demi. One of our friends liked it so much they checked it out from the Salina School library! Thank you for reading to us, Dr. Chochol!!!!!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We learned about 2D and 3D shapes! We sorted 2d and 3D shapes!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We are learning about reindeer!! We have been reseaching facts about these animals! We also discussed that we think we know about reindeer and then listened to an informational book. After that, talked about what facts were confirmed to be true and which facts are new. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We discussed the details in the story,”Turkey Trouble” by Wendi Silvano. We recorded the story elements like characters, setting, problem, and solution!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We did a turn and talk with our apple buddies to share a fact about our topic, reindeer!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
To start the month of December, we made and drank Grinch Punch!!! We ate popcorn too! We watched the origincal cartoon of The Grinch! We hav eour own classs Grinch! We are going to practice acts of kundness to make his heart grow! We have a jar where we are collecting green warm fuzzies! We get one of these (pompons) when we do an act of kindness and recognoize an act of kindeness somone does for us! When our jar is full we will color in a bigger size heart for The Grinch.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We practiced measuring! We used a string to compare length and height of objects in our room!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This friend found that a crayon is shorter than her string!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims of the senseless act of violence that happened in Oxford. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for all you do! Please remember to review the items in your child’s book buddy bag daily They all have a bag of sight words to practice reading, writing, and spelling as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
