Hello Families!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have had an amazing week so far!!! Both groups got to come to learn at Oakman School! We also had a virtual day for all! So much learning, laughter, and fun! It is always so nice to see my students whether in person, (or as a student put it to me…. “real life”) or on Zoom!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a look at some of the great learning taking place! Also, a happy belated birthday to the famous author, Dr. Seuss! Your children and I have been enjoying reading some of his treasured books! (One of my personal favorites is Green Eggs and Ham!) We graphed our opinions today! Would you eat green eggs and ham? Guess what? It was almost a split decision! 6 said they would try green eggs and ham! 5 said they would not try green eggs and ham. \ud83d\ude42 March is Reading Month as well!!1 We will be reading lots and lots of books together! Please respond to this post with the title of your child’s favorite book! I would love to know! Mine is …… (Duck on a Bike by David Shannon) We will be looking at the literary words of David Shannon, Laura Numeroff, and Mo Willems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We looked at pictures and stretched to write the sounds we heard in the series of pictures!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We made Elkonin boxes and practiced segmenting and blending sounds for the words that were pictured on the screen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

One of our asynchronous assignments was to look in magazines and old mail to find the letters in our names!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another Asynchronous assignment was to draw to tell about our favorite part in Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Happy Read Across America Day!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We drew to answer a question from the Benchmark story today. How did Little Bear help the people in his village when they were sick? The children did an amazing job remembering the details in the story to answer this question!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We practiced being engineers!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Thank you, Dr. Seuss for all of the books that have helped children learn to rhyme and use their imaginations! We love rhyming words!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We touched each number as we counted to 100!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We wrote in our writing binders to tell which character we liked the best… the bear or the girl, after listening to Horrible Bear in Benchmark.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We used our playdough to form uppercase D and lowercase d.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We used our playdough to create something that begins the letter Ds’ sound… This friend made a dog!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
